A People’s History

Cover

A few weeks ago I finally finished reading A People’s History of Christianity by Diana Butler Bass. Over the next few weeks I’ll be sharing some thoughts born out of it. I’m sad how late to the game I am with this book, but excited I finally arrived. If like me, you’re not as familiar with the history of Christianity as you’d like to be this is a great start.

It is an incredibly rich book that covers such a large period of time in a fascinating way. Familiarizing myself with church history is something I’ve wanted to do for a while, but it is such a large subject I’ve often decided to reread another book or start something new instead because I couldn’t decide where to start.

People’s History has provides some great insight on new areas to check out. One of the things that really struck in this book was the focus on hospitality in the early church. Really looking forward to sharing some thoughts on that for next week.

Grace and peace.
